Handel’s Messiah

Have you ever attended a presentation of Handel’s Messiah?  It was our tradition when we lived in Michigan many years ago.  The program was held at a large church, led by a professional director and sung by esteemed choirs and soloists.  To top it off the music was played by a full orchestra.  We usually arrived early to get seats up close to the musicians; it was awesome to watch them play their instruments so skillfully.

If you ever have a chance to attend such a production, please go.  You will be singing Handel’s music for the next several weeks.   The affair is a full dress event, so wear your finest attire.   You’ll enjoy getting fussed up and mingling among the other people.

If you’ve never heard of the Messiah, you’ve missed a treasure.    I’m going to check out the area where I now live and see if it is being presented nearby.  It’s been a few years since I’ve seen it.  And I miss it.

Click on this link for some musical excerpts from this awesome event; the full program is printed for you to view.  I would embed the link but I have not yet gotten into that little skill.
