Calling All Angels

Written by JANE SIBERRY

A man is placed upon the steps, a baby cries
And high above him you hear the church bells start to ring.
The heaviness, the heaviness of it settles in,
A mother starts to sing.

Then it’s one foot then the other as you step along the road
Steppin’ on the road, how much weight, how much weight?
And it’s how long and how far and how many times,
Oh, before it’s too late?

Calling all angels, calling all angels.
Walk me through this one, don’t leave me alone.
Calling all angels, calling all angels.
We’re trying, we’re hoping, but we’re not sure how

Oh and every day you gaze upon the sunset
With such love and intensity.
Why it’s almost as if, if you could only crack the code
You’d finally understand what this all means.

Oh but if you could, do you think you would
Have traded all the pain and suffering?
Oh, but then you would’ve missed the beauty of the light upon this earth
And the sweetness of the leaving.

Calling all angels, calling all angels!
Walk me through this one, don’t leave me alone
Calling all angels, calling all angels,
We’re trying, we’re hoping but we’re not sure

Calling all angels (call all angels)
Calling all angels (call all angels)
Walk me through this one
Don’t leave me alone.

Calling all angels, calling all angels
We’re trying, we’re hoping, we’re hurting, we’re loving
We’re crying, we’re calling,
But we’re not sure how this goes.

Psalm 34:6-7 KJV

“This poor man cried and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.  The angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear him and delivers them.”

Calling all angels!  Calling all angels!

We have some brothers and sisters hanging by a thread, folks, some of our blogger friends are ready to give up the ghost as writers, as friends, as children in the family of God.   The vibes streaming from this site echo an old haunting song, “Calling all angels”.   Please read the words to Jane Siberry’s song.  Answer the call to step in and encourage one another, lift up the tired hands of the weary, whisper music to the deafening ears of the downcast, love the confused and discouraged and pray for their souls.

May we get on our walking shoes!  May we open our hearts to those who need love, healing, and hope.  I’ve heard from so many who walk alone, read between the lines of stark desperation, and felt the cold, limp hand scratching out one last goodbye.

Please join with one another and offer hope to some ONE…one word at a time, one comment at a time, one reading at a time, one blog at a time…while we have TIME.  God will thank you for that.

Shalom

  1. Lovely touching post. We all need to hear words of encouragement from friends. Thank you for being you.

Sister Jeanne; This is just awsome…Shalom 🙂

  3. Wow, what a post! You are very special my friend. Thank you for a post which is sure to touch hearts in a very important way. This encouraging post will surely change lives . . . I KNOW because it has changed mine. Thank you and bless you. We all have trouble holding onto hope at times and we need to bind ourselves together as children of God. This is not an option but vital! As to your “can you see them?” The answer to that is yes. They are real. They are with us. They are His gift to us. Trust me on this. Better yet, trust Him. In His Amazing Love, Martha

    • Hanging on with everyone else! 🙂 Shalom

      • Salom, indeed. The beautiful group of sisters and brothers in Him are quite uplifting. I don’t always have that from people nearby geographically . . . I’m sure many others can say that as well. What a blessing it is to be able to reach out to one another globally in this way.

      • Yes, Martha, I too live a distance physically/heart-wise from family and feel so fractured as a person. Seems there are too many years gone by and no desire to reconnect. Sad. Everyone loses.
