The twilight years usually imply a life is about over, the end is in sight. Earth’s Standard Time, E.S.T., will be no more.
I prefer to reflect on twilight as the dawn of a new life, a new birth, freed from earth’s hostile grip, the setting down of the physical and the taking up of the spiritual.
The twilight years in a person’s life is the time to look up, for G.H.D., God’s Heavenly Dimension, is nigh at the door. Your redemption draws near. Can’t you see the finish line just ahead?! The ribbon is stretched across the track; the race is almost over!
See the banners strewn along the way as you draw closer and closer:
“HOPE to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ!” (1 Pet. 1:13) KJV
“I have finished my course, I have kept the FAITH.” (2 Tim. 4:7) KJV
“And this is LOVE, that we walk after His commandments. ”(2 John 6) KJV
“Putting on the breastplate of FAITH and LOVE, and for a helmet, the HOPE of salvation.” (1 Thess. 5:8) KJV
“Rejoice evermore!” (1 Thess. 5:16) KJV
“Faithful is He that calleth you!” (1 Thess. 5:24) KJV
“…Let us run with patience the race that is set before us!” (Heb. 12:1b) KJV
“Look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith!” (Heb. 12:2a) KJV
Do you see that cloud of witnesses up ahead?! “By faith: Abraham… Isaac… Jacob… Joseph… Moses… Rahab… Gideon… Barak… Samson… Jephthah… David… Samuel, these all, and millions more, having obtained a good report through faith, received the promise! Do you hear their cheers?! Run! Run!
You have reached the finish line; the ribbon is torn, no need for a photo finish. He knows who you are! Look up, weary one, you are Home!
Fall into His arms, rejoice and give thanks.
“So shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thess. 4:17b) KJV
