Lest We Forget …

O Beautiful for Spacious Skies

~Katherine Lee Bates

*   *   *

O beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain!

America!  America!

God shed His grace on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining seas!

*   *   *

O beautiful for heroes proved

In liberating strife,

Who more than self their country loved,

And mercy more than life!

America!  America!

May God thy gold refine

Till all success be nobleness

And every gain divine!

Veterans Day – November 11, 2015

Honor our veterans everywhere on this Veteran’s Day.  They “cared enough to send the very best” to fight our battles, keep the peace, and maintain our country’s defenses. Support them through our many agencies, local and national, encourage them with packages from home, and pray for them with earnest hearts. Some of them are in foreign lands, while others are right in your own backyard. Remember their families also who wait their safe return home.

Remember ALL our veterans, whether retired or active duty men and women. Many of them are in need of our help. Would you mind visiting those who are set aside in veteran’s hospitals, nursing homes, Soldier’s homes, or in their own homes?  Now is the time to report for our duty, making the rest of their lives comfortable and safe.  Let us lift them up with honor and respect and endow them with our love and prayers.

God bless America!

A Tribute

The Human Touch

‘Tis the human touch in this world that counts,

The touch of your hand and mine,

Which means far more to the fainting heart

Than shelter and bread and wine;

For shelter is gone when the night is o’er,

And bread lasts only a day,

But the touch of the hand and the sound of the voice

Sing on in the soul always.

~Spencer Michael Free

A moment to share

Let you know I care

Thanks for your touch

It means so very much.

What joys you bring

Your likes just sing

Your comments all

Mean a lot, y’all!

Reach others today

Be blessed always

Sing peace and love

From our God above.

Jim’s gone

Religious Candles and Cross

To all my family and friends:

My brother, Jim, passed away a short time ago.  I so appreciate all your prayer support during the past few months, as it meant so much to Jim that you all showed that kind of love and respect.  Our family will miss him yet we rejoice in the knowledge that he is with the Lord, in peace and no more pain, fear or suffering.

God bless you all and may His peace comfort you all your days.
